We are promoting the William Allen White 2007-2008 Nominees in several ways:
1. Students who read or listened to two books and then turned in two book reports were eligible to vote for their favorite (and helped determine the award winner!) the second week of April.
2. We will be taking a field trip next October to the William Allen White Award Ceremony in Emporia. Students become eligible to go on the 2008 field trip if : · Third graders read, test, and pass (80%) five books. · Fourth graders read, test, and pass (80%) eight books. · Fifth graders read, test, and pass (80%) twelve books · Sixth graders (that want to attend from Middle School) read, test, and pass (80%) fifteen books.
3. Students that reached the STAR level on our Wall of Fame or qualified to go on the field trip were allowed to make posters and campaign for their favorite book.

Here, Ms. Pfizenmaier’s class votes for their favorite William Allen White book. Almost everyone in the class qualified to vote and received chocolate William Allen White medals, biz cards, and extra credit in their classroom as well as the privilege of choosing the next winner! |
