Welcome to our school. I am Mr. Mark Koepsel and feel honored to serve as the principal at Auburn Elementary. We have a great staff, which takes pride in teaching the children of our community.

I have been an administrator at Auburn since 2003. Previously, I was a principal in the Mission Valley school district. Prior to that I taught middle school language arts and elementary and jr. high physical education at Harveyville. I also taught high school English for a year at Santa Fe Trail High School.

I have always had an interest in education and working with young people. I have played and coached sports at various levels and was involved in many group activities while growing up. I enjoyed my teaching experience very much and feel that positive interaction with students is essential.

I grew up in Clay Center, KS, attended Cloud County Community College and Kansas State University, where I received my bachelor degree. I completed my master's at Washburn University.

I am married and we have two daughters. We also have one Golden Retriever and two cats. I enjoy a variety of sports, exercising, reading, and listening to many types of music.
